Dean Pittman
Inspector of Pltmbing F, Setcers
City Hall
Hverett, 1tiasLington 9201
Dear hfr. Pittman:
9520"s
After returning from tlie 13oy Scout JamUoree I read your letter of
August 8, 197"s, regarding saiitary facilities at i;onktoi,m.
lYe are on a minimtvn Uudget trying to get a nei Uusiness starteu in
a long time existing {aczlity. Our ,isiness is not one tlat caters
to masses of people, ratlier we see six to ten on a good day. Thesc
feia people rarely need the use of toilet facilities. 17ie toilet
facility is tliere for our one to rivo male employees w]io iorl: t]iere
at aiy given time. 'I'hus ie feel it extravagant and Jastefull to
require two batlirooms. I believe as an existing facility, tlie
iiamburger stand, prior to enactment of the law is not required to
upgrade and provide dual iacilities. Surely in it's neia use iae
serve far feiaer people t]ian a liamburger stand. 19e iaould suggest tliat
one properly operating toilet facility should Ue adequate to conly
ivith Uie neea and tlie laa.
I agree tlie one toilet facility must operate properly. We had tlie
septic tank ptmped t]iis week and ,re told that it is operable..
Lasically, iae took the old hamUurger stand and it's facilities,
cleaned and painted tliem up and hoped to get the biisiness going sucli
tliat vre coulcl afferd a ni_ce pavecl lot and neia office. I:e ham't
ot tliere yet, but ive are i,orking to«<ard those goals.
tiVe are liaving a problem trying to figure out iallat is neccssai
really required, and cal,at ould l;e required iP tiiis aere a neti
ratlier than an existing facility. If tae were required to meet
standards of a neir business developmert we are proUably out ef
busiiess and must merge iaitti the car lot elsednere. IYe have a
minimwn budget to cork wit1 and iaant to do <<llat is riglit, but
letters titie receiveu from the city on rlugust 1 and 8 leave us
sandUagged.
Sincerely,
_ ,- .
`C.t` : < C?, ..
Larry Laycock,
Honktoism, Inc.
' -_
Pres ideit
t]ie
the
, Ir2
1 [ in ' • I
 1973
RU G 1
T( OF EVERE'ii
Inspection pt
