An inspection was <br />conducted at 3309 Federal Ave ro gather more information about the extent and nature of the consvuction work <br />performed without permits and approvals that has occurred [here. <br />I have prepared a brief summary o' observations made during this visit. <br />1. An addition ro ihe rear portion of the existing house has been added without permrts and approvals. This addition has <br />a bedroom and bathroom that is finished and occupied. <br />2. Permits and approvals for this work are required. Planning department approval is required prior to permitiing this <br />construction. Plumbing, Electrical and Building permi[s are required for this addition. <br />3. A permit application/ proposal will be required. With the permit application plans are necessary. The plans should <br />identify and describe the work to be covered by the permits. Identification of the occupancy and use of tfie rooms and <br />spaces shall be dearly provided. � site plan showing the location of the addition on the property is also required. <br />4. Separate Electrical permit(s) are required. <br />5. Field inspection and ��nal approval of the work is required. <br />W hile conducting Ihe inspections of the building i[ was observed that numerous electrical code violations and ha7ards <br />exist within Ihis building including but not limited to: <br />A. The main electrical service panel lacks a main disconnect switch �lacks overcurrent prote�tion for the entire house�. <br />B. Numerous exposed and uncapped wires and wiring installed in violation of code were observed in ihe basement area <br />of the structure. <br />C. The main electrical service panel lack; a front cover and has obviously been ins[alled withou[ permits and approvais. <br />Required smoke alarms were missing in the addition. <br />These electrical conditions and violations are significant and create life safety hazards for the ocaipaMs. This electrical <br />system is UNSl1F[ EQUIPMENT as defined by code. (IPMC section 108.1.2) <br />These electrical hazards should be mrrected �SAP.
