These comments address building issues only, additional revisions or additions may be required by other departments (such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All references refer to the 1994 Uniform Building Code, as amended by the State of Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code 1995 Edition, unless stated otherwise. In order for the rocessing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to provide the Building Division with two complete new sets of drawings reflecting the corrections requested. 1. The stairway must open directly to the exterior. UBC 1017.10 2. Access to the exits is not provided as required by UBC 1005.5 (dead ends exceeding 20' in both directions from the bottom of the stairway). 3. Grab bars, adjustable hand-held shower heads, etc. should be shown on the drawings. See enclosed information. 4. Please provide lighting budget calculations to show compliance with Chapter 15 of the Washington State Energy Code. Prepare a response letter showing where each item in this correction letter is addressed on the plan set. Upon resubmittal of the drawings, your application will be given priority and plan review will recommence. All required submittals shall be of sufficient detail and contain sufficient information to ensure that the proposed strut will be constructed in compliance with all adopted codes.
