` <br />r, <br />R�R <br />377 <br />August 20, 1980. en; 22 1980 <br />_. _.................................... _.. _ <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was cCs$ .L OF EVERETT.. <br />c�'&R er at 7:00 p. <br />August 20; 1980, in the Council Chambers of the Everet� ity Hall, President <br />Overstreet presiding. Upon roll call it was.found that all Councilmen were <br />present except Councilman'Aldcroft.' Mayor Moore was excused. <br />i4inutes. of the meeting held August 13, 1980 were approved as printed. <br />COMMITTEE APPOINTMENT <br />President Overstreet said he had received a request from the Mayor to appoint <br />two Council members to.the Consultant Selection Committee for the Southwest <br />Everett Sewer Interceptor System. He asked any Councilmen,,wishing.to serve on <br />this -committee to please let him know. <br />!R <br />AG <br />ENDA ADD -ON �IG <br />Brad Cattle, City Attorney, asked for a first reading of an ordinance to place <br />the 25t EMS Levy on the ballot November 4th as a special City election. Shoul <br />the Council decide to do this after their workshop by having first reading at <br />this meeting, final reading.would be in time/for the cut-off deadline for the <br />November election. / --- <br />Henry New on, ent of the Luther Child Center, requested :the council to <br />waive the power of attorney for the 555 Improvement in connection with their <br />.building on Federal Avenue. <br />John Patzold of the Building Department said that he had researched.this, and <br />Planning Commission Minutes of February 13th concurred in the Special Property <br />Use Permit but recommended that Item No. 4 of the conditions be deleted. This <br />condition had to do with the power of attorney for the 555 Improvement. Throu <br />an oversight, this item had not been deleted from the conditions when it was <br />placed before the Council for their concurrence. Therefore, the Council actio <br />had been to concur in the Special Property Use Permit subject -to all of the cc <br />ditions as set forth. In reviewing the Planning Commission meetings, it was <br />very clear that they had recommended to eliminate the necessity for the 555 <br />Improvement. <br />Moved by Councilman Pope, seconded by Councilman Michelson to concur with the <br />Planning Commission's recommendation anal'waive the power of attorney for 555 <br />Improvement for the Special Property Use Permit for Luther Child Center. <br />Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yes.except Councilman Aldcroft who <br />was absent. — <br />Motion Carried <br />`PEDESTRIAN CROSSING COMPLAINT <br />Matthew O'Iiare, of 1809 Rainier, complained of certain intersections as far a <br />pedestrian crossing problems. Hugh Warren said that these signal lights are <br />being corrected and these crossings should be in good order shortly. <br />
