The <br />Chapter 5 approach is a good choice lo� addifions that donY conlorm to any o/ the Chapter 6 pathways. This is <br />tnie because Chapter5 allows Component Pedormance ca/culations to inc/ude heatloss improvements in the <br />exisfing home. The Chapter 6, Presciptive Approach would normally be the /irst choice lor new dwellings since <br />it provides a variety of compllance optlons, is easier to use, and is no more stringent than Chapter 5. <br />Component Pedormance calcu/ations may also be peAo�T<.d by computer using programs such as WATTSUN <br />5.1. <br />Instructions: <br />Pages 1, 2, 3 The lirst two pages provide instructions and lorms ior peAormirq the Component Perlormance <br />calculations.
