6525 FleminR William Barnes June 8, 1970 Complaint received from Snohomish County Health Department. June 10, 2970 Inspected structure, found the electrical, heating and pinmbing system to be dangerous and unsafe, and the interior deteriorated. Posted as "Unlawful to Occupy". June 11, 1970 Talked with owner. He agreed to repair the descrepancies. Contractors to do the elctrical, plwnbing, and heating work. Mr. Barnes to do interior remode'L Permit issued for $500.00 interior repair. October 2�, 1970 Inspected site - no change. December 3, 1970 Inspected site. Found the structure open to the public. No evidence of any work being done, and further deteriorated. Contacted owner, he stated that he has decided to demolish the structure. February24, ]971 Demolition permit issued. Sixty (60) day limitation. March 8, 1971 Demolition in progress, p8rt of roof removed. May 3, 1971 Demolition has been stopped for reasons unkown. Attempted to contact Mr. Barnes but he has moved and left no forwarding address. August 18, 1971 Located Pfr. Barnes at a Marysville Nursing Home. Notified hi� that it may be neceasary for the city to take action against him. Ne didn't appear to comprehend the situation. February 1, 1972 Complaint from neighbor. House open and children playing inside. Also nuticed candles there at night and "'nippy" types hanging around. February 3, 1972 Issued notice of unsafe structure to Mr. Barnes. Df�� °��s April 12, 1972 Contacted Mr. Barnes. He stated that he wanted to repair the house. He was advised that he would have to satisfy the requirement of a new structure and that he must act soon. He promised to secure the structure in the meantime. January 3, 19`!3 Complaint of neighbor. House. open and people inside. ,Tanuary 8, 1973 Contacted Mr. Barnes. Advised him to do something with the property within sixty (60) days or the city would continue action. Notification of Council Hearing delivered April 6, 1973 to Mr. Barnes by Personal Servic�.
