Dougherty: I received the copy of the letter that you had mailed to a Fix�, Ratliff at at 11931 2nd, Place, Evez•ett in regards to my rental at`912 Forest Drive. �..�-----� I am surprised that you xould back the tenants on their complaint against me on the strength of my ignoring the letter as we have never lived at that address� and I did not receive the letter. I had electricians out to the house many times, and rirs. Hansen xould not be home, even after receiving a call from them prior to tne visit. I xas quite concerned about the danger of fire because xhen I called on them to check the care and cleanliness o£ the house I found the mother gone� the father asleep, garbage piled high in the ante room� butter or margarine on the kitchen floor� irith numerous cnildren running through it, the draperies Wer.e pulled from the wall, and the,y xere standing on the heaters. The man from Seahurst called ou� attention to the code violations, and due to the di££iculty o£ getting people in to work� and the damage they xere doing to the house I asked Hansen�s to vacate. I gave them j0 days notice, but then they could not find a home in that time ex- tended it another 3G days. They uverstayed four days, then left the house in a very unclean, damaged condition. I kept �n38.00 as damage and cleaning deposit, and this is why they are ueing your letter to Ui•�ng ma in line. They have applied to a sta:e tenants and landlord�s department to force me to return the deposit, and have told them of your unhappiness because I ignored ,your letter. I can assure you tnat I was concerned, and that I was doing everything I could to get an electrician in, I believe that they installed the new heaters and checked the circui.ts on N+arch 25th.
