Upon arrival 1 found O�cers Gill and Sampaga on scene. The vehicle, a 2003 Hyundai Elantra (WA ABR9261), was in the southwest corner of the property. The vehicle was resting on the driver's side; the roof resting against a large bushy tree, the undercarriage exposed and facing south in the direction of 38`" Street. Officer Gill advised the occupant(s)were unresponsive. I canvassed the citizens milling around and located ore who said he witnessed the accident. According to Toren M. HOYLE, he was standing outside, rivo-doors noRh of 3727 Friday Avenue, when he first heard, ihen saw the Hyundai come down the hill on Edward Avenue towards Friday Avenue. HOYLE said instead of slowing down for the stop sign, he heard the vehicle's engine rev and the vehicle speed through the stop and narrowly miss the guardraii and telephone pole in front of 3727 Friday Avenue, landing on its side against the tree. HOYLE said he tried checking on the occupants and heard no response. HOYLE estimated the vehicle was traveling about 30 MPH down the hill. HOYLE provided a written statement, which I later gave to OKcer � Yeadon as the primary investigating o�cer. After the Everett Fire Department arrived and extricated the lone male occupantldriver, I remained on scene until American Towing arrived and removed the vehicle. I photographed the scene, both before the driver was extricated, and after. The photographs were later impounded for evidentiary purposes. The vehicle appeared to have grazed the fire hydrant on the southwest corner of the property. The hydrant was leaning slightly and an employee with Everett Utilities responded and tagged the hydrant out of service. The empioyee advised the hydranUwater main may have possibly been damaged and a crew would inspect it tomorrow.
