^_ ,
-6-
(48) rather than the required one-hundred-eighteen (118) . I
. . I
Legal Description: biocic 567, Lots 11 - 12 inclusive Plat
of Everett
Address: 2531 Broadway
Zoning: C-1, General Commercial
Jeanne Dixon, a real estate broker from Bellevue, represented
Consolidated Dairy Products and made the following statements :
1. The Darigold Company is consolidating their business and
' have no further use for the building.
2. Additional Furchase of property for parking would be costly.
However, additional parking is possible by lease.
3. T.he building has historic value and will remain the same
other than internal improvements.
9 . Fifty percent of the property is in parking now.
Mr. John Collins also spoke in behalf of Consolidated Dairy
Products request and added the following:
1. The proposed use of the building would be primarily for a
restaurant.
2. There are several restaurants uptown and in other areas of
the City that are providing less. parking then is being
asked of Consolidated.
3. Mr. Collins had spoken to the owner of the drive-in to the
north and to acquire property or parking in that area
would be costly.
4. With proper planning, on the area that is available, a mini-
mum of sixty-six (66) parking spaces could be provided rather
than the forty eight (48) as shown on the application.
Dir. Bill Tackett and Mr. Larry Foster, restaurant owners, were
against the granting of the variance for the following reasons:
1. All parking requirements had to be met on their buildings
so no partiality should be shown to Consolidated. The same
rules should apply for all .
2. The reduction from 118 to 98 parking stalls is more than
fifty (50) percent less parking than the Ordinance requires.
This is too much to ask for.
There was no further comments from the audience.

--- ----— _ _ ---- . .._ ._ ---- --- - - ----- - ___. -_ __-- ---- -- •. --..
-c ..•
