BO% G•303I3
SEATTIE, WASHINGTON 98103
June 27, 1994
Mr. Howdrd Goldberg
21409 Poplar Way
Brier, Washington 98036
RE; LOT 4, ALDER POINP, EVEREIT, WASHING'I'ON
Dear Mr. Goldberg:
Please refer to my letter to Mr. Richard Sullivan dated July 25, 19&1, regarding the property
of Howard Goldberg.
The last pazagraph of the referenced lener contains the statement that "Residences should be
sited so that they are not closer than :,J feet to the crest of the 1V on 1H slope." The 50-
foot dimension, at the lime this letter was prepared, was considemd to be a setback from the
crest of the 1V on 1H slope. Considering the dense sands exposed in this gene►al area, it is
now my opinion that such a setback is not required for a residence sited on the west side of
the ridge where lhe slope is iV on 2H. Thus, it is now my opinion that a setback fmm the
crest of thc ridge of 15 feet towdrd the west would be safe and reasonable.
To confirm the 15-foot setback and delineate the design requiremen for residence
foundations, driveway, and other improvements will rec{uire, in my oEnion, a geutechnical
investigation including borings.
S:nrvmlv
- ,
SHANNON & WILSON, INC. 3
tiP F"SHi'^,
v .F, a
t' n c7
C= .
