The scope of our work
consisted of exploring site surface and subsurface conditions, and then developing this report to
provide recommendations for general earthwork and design criteria for foundations and retaining
walls. This work was authorized by your acceptance of our proposal, P-5276, dated July 11, 2000.
The subsurface conditions of the proposed building site were explored with twr, test pits thai
encountered a layer of fill overlying medium-dense, weathered slightly silty, gravelly sand overlying
dense glacial till. The dense glacialiy deposited soils were encountered approximately 6 to 7 feet
below the existing grade. The single-family residential homes can be constructed on conventionai
foundations bearing directly on medium-dense, glacially deposited soils located 4 to 5 feet below
the ground surface, or on imported structural fill or lean-mix (1 1/2 sack) concrete on top of dense
soils. Temporary slope cuts can be excavated at a 1.5:1 (H:V) slope. An old septic sewer system
will need to be removed out of the footprint of the proposed residence.
The attached report contains a discussion of the study and our recommendations. Please contact ;
us if there are any questions regarding this report, or if we can be of further assistance during the
design and construction phases of this project. ;
h
•.
Respectfully submitted,
GEOTECH CONSULTANTS, INC.
- `""
James R.
