As part of the City's Water Main Replacement N project, the City is providing another
water feed to the Scahurst Avenue area. In order to do t'is the Ciry is relocating a pressurc
reducing valve and adding some new piping. As a result, the delivery pressure to your
residence is expected to be over 80 psi. For water pressure over 80 psi the plumbing code
recommends a pressure reducing valve (PRV) be installed on the water service line on your
property.
As part of this water construction project, the City is offering to install the PRV at no cost to
you. After installation, the PRV valve -- like the rest of the service line -- will be your property
to maintain. Additionally, I am attaching an information sheet that I hope will answer most, f
not all, of your questions.
The City's contractor anticipates starting the individual PRV work October 6. In order to
properly install the PRV it will be necessary for the contractor to perform the work on your
property. The work will require the instailation of a small vault the same size as your water
meter box. The new vault will be located on your side of the meter box and as dose to lhc
meter box as possible. The contractor will restore the area as dose as possible to original
ondition. The contractor will attempt to work with you to determine a good time for the work.
Please sign below indicating your authorization for the City's contractor to enter your property
and instll the PRV. I've endosed a self-addressed stamped envelope for your convenience.
Please sign and return by Oct •1, 2014.
 -- --
  AL1L.fAlb - EY
CITY Of= EVERE-TT • 3200 Cedar Strccl • Fvcrelt, WA 98201 • (426) 257-8800 • Fax (425) 257-8892
