Are the stairs new? If so, the steps, handrail and headroom need to comply
with the enclosed code sections.
2. The plans do not indicate the connections between posdfooting and posbbeam.
Is it your intent to have this part of the work inspected? 'The permit only
describes upstairs but the plans coverea the foundation.
• 3. Other requirements also hinge on your intent including:
■ bath/laundry fans
■ fresh air in habitable rooms
■ smoke detectors in sleeping rooms (and areas leading to sleeping rooms)
■ shower wall finish
■ a landing outside the sliding glass door
4. The upper level room lacks enough headroom (7'6") to be habitable and the
rafter framing requirements for structural soundness calls for collar ties that
are lower than shown on plans.
To reiterate, if you want the permit to cover the endre addition, changes are required
on the plans. If you want the permit to cover the upper floor only, the issues would be
the rafte framing and possibly the stairs.
Si cere ,
//vj yrL
Tim Tyler
Building Official
jlc:TT(eusllc 1)
CITY UF EVERETT• 3200 Cedar Street • Everett, WA 98201 • (206) 259•8800 • Fax (206) 259-8856
