ANDERSON: Ron Andersan, District
6 Administrator, District 1, Washinqton State Department
7 of Transportation.
8 Just une overview that I would like to remind
9 everybody is that, you know, when we talk about Park
1G and Ride needs and facilities in to the future, we are
' 11 lookinq at a million new people cominq into the Puqet
12 Sound reqion in the next 20 years. Currently we have
13 27, 000 Park and Ride slots in the Puget sound region,
14 and the regional transit plan in looking with no new
15 transportation corridors, there is an estimate that we
16 will need 38, 000 more park and ride stalls within the
' 17 region within the next 20 to 30 years. So we have qot
18 a lot of work ahead of us and we think that this is an
19 important site for us and there will be many more
2o needed in the region in the future.
21 MR. AYE: With that, I would like to thank
22 all oP you for your interest in the project and in
23 cominq out tonight, and remind you if you aanted to
24 maka writtn comments, wa will take written comments
25 until July lst.
