This was discovered when
your water pressure was measured at your outside hose spigot resulted with your water
pressure being much lower than what the new PRV is set for.
Most likely this PRV is located inside your house where the water service enters your home. As
I noted in my earlier letter, PRVs ar2 maintained by the homeuwner. That is why we had no
knowledge that your home already had a PRV. The fact that your water pressure is low
suggests that either the PRV is set incorrectly or that it is malfunctioning.
Our records indicate your water service is about 20 years old. If your PRV was installed at the
sarne time it is likely that it is at, or beyond, its useful life and malfunctioning. Therefore, if you
want to improve the water pressure in your home, the City recommends you hire a plumber to
remove your existing PRV.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please call me at (425) 257-7215 or Mark
Doucette al (425) 257-7231,
Sincerely,
Richard He i, P.E.
enior Engineer
CITY OF EVERETT • 3200 Cedar Street • Everett, WA 98201 • (425) 257-8800 • Fax (425) 257-8882
