The parcel that is being <br /> improved is adjacent to and ju:.t east of the location where <br /> the road ri.ght-of-way expands from 100 to 200 feet wide, and <br /> is on the south side of Brcadway. The property is currently <br /> being used by a top soil Contraetor. <br /> It was my pleasure to•day,: to talk with Mr. Bob Kellerman <br /> of your departmert and to discuss with him the details of <br /> construction for the 36 in. sanitary sewer main along the north <br /> side of Broadway,. The sewer is very deep in this area, about <br /> 29 feet, and is at or very close to the pavement edge . <br /> To excavate for a normal lateral connection or drop man- . <br /> hole in this area would be extroardinarily expensive and di�- <br /> ruptive to traffic along this major arterial highway. <br /> We xemarked that the City sewer map, U-18-28-5 , shows a <br /> side sewer connection to the 36-in. main at Station 4+23, be- <br /> tween manholes 1 and 2 . This lateral location is at the appro:ci- <br /> mate center of the property we are developing for Capital Savings , <br /> albeit on the other side of Broadway. <br /> Mr. Kellerman was cooperative in finding field book data <br /> (Inspection Field Boolc �E125 pp. 30-31) �vhich indicates that <br /> this connection is a drop lateral similar in detail to City <br /> Standard C- 15 , with cast iron and concrete pipe. No specific <br /> mention is made in the field book as to riser pipe diameter, <br /> but it is thought to be F-in. <br /> MLNICtPAI.
