These changes will affect CHIP Contractors in the following ways: 1. Some joCs will req�ire Plan Review Checks and Fees prior to issuance of a Building Permit. We will be previewiny the specs on all. future CHIP work with the Building Department for them to make that determination. This will be indicated on the bid package. If required, the plan check should not significantly delay issuance of the Building Permit but wil.� require payment of the sta^dard P�an Check Fee and should be included in your bid, Tables for these f:e:: are available at the Buildina Aepartment. Z. Building Permit must be obtained and posted, as required, on the job site prior to issuance of any funds for payment on any CHIP work. Also note that we have changed the way we write the carpet and vinyl spec. We have fuund that tying the quality to a retail material allowance does not encourage competitive biddin3 when there is often little consistency in the retail price from one supplier lo another. Instead, we wil? usually have the owner pre-select a specific brend, style and color which will be included in the specs.
