The intent of
the meeting was to establish the specific design criteria for the landscape and tree
retention plan for this project, and as a result of our discussions and visual observations
in the field, I would like to summarize the design criteria which will be required by the
city for the final landscape plan.
There were three clumps of hemlock, cedar and Douglas fir trees which
were examined during our site inspection. The first clump is located
approximately 120 to 150 feet east of the northwest property corner
immediately adjacent to the north property line; the second clump is
located approximately 150 feet south of the northwest property corner
immediately adjacent to the west property line; and the third clump is
located immediately south of the proposed entrance off Third Avenue and
just north of the adjacent multi -family development approximately 450
feet south of the north property corner along the west property line.
Many of the trees appeared to lie within the 18 to 20-foot landscaping
areas anticipated along the north and west property lines, and the
elevations of the trees appear to be consistent with the proposed finished
floor elevation of the buildings. Therefore, we will anticipate saving
many of the existing large trees, some of which appear to be in excess of
20 inches in diameter. We will also work closely with the fire depart-
ment to determine the minimum driveway widths and the possible addition
of landscape islands in order to save as many of the existing trees in
these areas as possible.
rECE:VED
i E a 31987
CITY Ci.ERK
6625 South 190th, #102 • Kent, Washington 98032 • (206) 872-5522
