C. Groundcovera <br />1. Groua�.cover includea lox groving living plant materials such as <br />parennials, grase, ivy and aimilar plants. For purpoaes of this <br />Ordiaance, chipped vood, bark, similar mulching materials or <br />non-living artificial plant materiala are not acceptable <br />subetitutea for required grouad cover. <br />2. In order to accomplish 90Z coverage of bare soil by groundcover <br />Withia three years, apacing for ground cover shall be as followe: <br />a. 2 1/2 inch pots - 12 iachea on center <br />b. 4 inch pots - 18 inches on center <br />c. 1 gallon pota - 24 inchee on ceater <br />d, alternative spaciag of particular species may be approved by <br />the Ctty if documeatation conceming the effectiveneae af the <br />grouadcover ie submitred with the landscape plan. <br />D. Plaat Materials, Size, Charecteristics. Al1 plant materia2s, sizes, <br />and characterlatics shall be in accordance with the current American <br />Association of Nurserymen Standarda. <br />35.120 Inata]lation and Securit� Bequir�ents. <br />A. Landacaping required purauant to thia Ordinance shall be inatalled ia <br />accordance with the approved laadacape plan prior to Che issuaace of a <br />Certificate of Occupancy. An applican:c may requeat a temporary <br />Certificate of Occupaacy for aa ezceptioa to this requirement. If a <br />temporary certificate is issued, all required landacaping at�all be <br />installed rrithin aix moatha after iasuance of the temporary Certificate <br />of Occupancy. The Planning Departmeat ehall require a performance <br />assurance device, as deecribed In Section 40, prior to iesuing a <br />temporary Certificate of Occupancy. <br />B. Prior to issuance of a final Certificate of Occupaacy, the Planning <br />Department shall verify that the landacaping ia inatalled in accordance <br />with the approved landecape plan. <br />C. If the inetallation of the required landacaping or screening is not <br />completed withia the peziod specified, the security may Se used by the <br />City to contract for completion of the inatallation. Upon completion <br />of th� intttllaCian, aay portion of Che remainiug security ahall be <br />return�d. <br />D. The Planaing Department ahall perform the fiaal landscape aad screening <br />inape�'t1oII prior to aay security being returned. Any port3on of the <br />landecaping not inetalled properly shall cauae the certificate of <br />occupaacy to be withheld or revoked until the project is completed or <br />cauae the security to be uaed bq the City. <br />2/20/92 <br />35-11 <br />
