OCT-31-200� 03:40P FROM: T0:4252576856 P.2 <br />r � �_' <br />' / <br />Sample of Cooking Skllls Program at disAbllIty Resource Connection: <br />Beginning Cooking Class for Adults with Disabilities <br />Curriculum to include: <br />Basic Cookin� Items (ie pots, utensils, pans) <br />Sasic Food Preparation (ie measuring, cutting, foUowing a recipe, diswrding <br />scrups and oils, cleaning, etc) <br />Making healthy choices when euting out the "ins nnd outs" of restaurant eating <br />Skills to include: <br />Boiling water a�id preparing Mac and Cheese and spaghetti; <br />ve�etables; eggs; hot dogs <br />(testing the food to make sure it is done, setting a timer, etc) <br />Intermediate Cooking Class for Adults with Disabilities <br />Students who have completed the Beginning Class can continue to this one. <br />Plenning a Simple Meul (protein, carbs, etc; Food Pyramid) <br />Basic grocery shopping skills (trip to Grocery Outlet on Evt Mull Way) <br />Demonstrnte to the class the preparation of a simple meal: <br />Cooking a Tunn Casserole <br />Cookins a simple pasta dish <br />Steaming vegetables <br />Advanced Cooking Class for Adults with Disabilities <br />Students who have completed the Intermediate Class cun continue to this one. <br />Students will learn how to prepare a more substantial meal: <br />Baked chicken dinner <br />Meatloaf <br />"Fancy" casserole with sevetal differentingredients <br />w/vesctablcs, fiuit, dairy product. <br />Also, a prepnring n simple dessert may be included. <br />Each of thc above classes will meet once weekly for six �veeks or to be determined by <br />inshuctor. <br />Special One-Time Only Classes: <br />Baking Holiday Cookies <br />Preparing a CrBme Pie <br />Prepnrins a Breakfrtst <br />Preparing a Healthy Meal On-The-Go <br />Other Topics to be Added <br />ZIY <br />
