Pcrmanent roof maintenance access (fixed laddcr or slair) is required when thc Type I hood exhaust fan <br />termination is installed on roofs at a hcight escecding 1 G feet, per IMC section 30G.5. <br />„2. A roof platfonn to scrvicc lhe Typc 1 hood exhaust fan and duct is required when tlie roof slope is 25% <br />or greatcr (3:12), per IMC section 30G.5.1. <br />' 3. Latcral support or calculations and details from a licensed professional engineer are required for thc <br />wall enclosure of thc Type I hood c�l�aust fan abave the roof. <br />�/ 4. <br />�5 <br />[f the wall perpendicular to the Type 1 Hood contains wood studs, then mineral wool alonc is not <br />sufficient to reduce the clearancc requiremcnts from 18 inches to 6 inches, per IMC Table 308.G. The <br />drawings should specify the exact assembly as described per IMC Table 308.G. <br />The intcrior �vall treatment of tlie side wnll adjacent to the Type I hood should indicate the following, at <br />Section B on the drawings: <br />a. l8 inch (or full wall widlh) verlical and 18 inch horizontal extension of galvanized sheet metal, <br />per IMC Table 308.6. <br />` 6. A rated duct enclosure is required from the point of penetratian of the floor-ceiling assembly to thc <br />outlet tenninal, per IMC section 5063.10. Catalog cuts of the rated enclosure material and installation <br />requirements classified in accordance with ASTM G 814 should be submitted with the drawings. <br />7. Gxposed duct�vrap systems in the mezzaninc storage room should be protected where subject to physical <br />damage, per IMC 5063.10, csception l. Studs and drywall sl�ould be sl�own on the drawings at the <br />mezzaninc Ievcl at thc Type I liood duct penetration. <br />8.
