The <br />variance requested is from Szction 36-170A AF2A. Under the current secdof� Future Shop is not <br />allowed to have �qy strcet front signage for its new sWre. Under normal conditions every <br />development is allowed one strat front sign per 300 feet of frontage. There are already tvvo <br />ezisting pylons at the development. <br />In our discussions with the city planning department, (Steve Ingalsbe) it was undersWod that <br />Future Shop would be allowed a total of 50 square foet on one of the two strcet frontage signs. <br />Applebee's is the nearest tenant to Future Shop. Their sign is designed as such that a Future <br />Shup paned cannot be placod on that existing pylon (see Photo). We have approached Applebee's <br />and the main office (Evan Musikantow 312 943-1919) and have betn flady denied access. <br />We are requesting that either a monument sign or a pylon sign be allowed to be placed on the <br />Future Shop lot to idendfy it's location for East bound tcaffic on Everett Mall Way. Again we, <br />do have approval for 50 squate fat, but NO WHERE TO PI.ACE 1T. Future Shop is new to <br />this mazket area, and noods the eaposure, (just as Applebce's has) to the complete flow of traffic <br />East and West. We welcome any accommodadon that can be granted that will allow Future equal <br />ezposure to the flow of traffic. <br />This issue has betn discussed and approved by the property owner the Olympic Capitol Group <br />(Ted Rae 206 776-3333).
