This
eggcrate will allow Cor visual obsecvation to approximately 19%a of each tLeater
ceiling. This, coupled with no ceiling tile behind the screen, equates to a mtal of
27°/a of "open" ceiling area.
Similar proposals have been approved by Fire Marshals representing thejurisdictions
of Pigard Jregor and Bellevue Washington. Each jurisdiction approved the praposal
as meeting the intent of the Code, conditional upon bulancing the distribution of
open area, and recognizing the sprinkler distribution above and bclow the layin
cciling. L.ogically, the Fire Marshal's have preferred thc use of lay-in ceiling and
open areas ys it allows quicker physical and visual access ro troubled areas, as
compared to a hard ceiling siWation.
We would appreciate your consideration of this proposal and are available ro meet
with you and the Fire Marshal to rjiscuss it in further detail.
Sinccrely
•
Dvid P.
