MCNerney Associates, as it relates to fire protection in the above
referenced buflding. _
The decision has been made to accept the propcsal as presented, witti one
exception. .
Item 32, a proposed "PA System," is probably of little value in the overall
scheme of fire protection and may be omitted.
The remaining elements of the proposal (listed below) shall remain intact:
1. Install a monitored alarm system to provide early warnings and early
detection. Such a system Nould have a cent:al monitoring station.
This wr,uld give the building the capability for early detection which
is besi`, for both life safety and fire protection purpose.
3. Provide a ventilation system for smoke removal in the stairwells.
4. Provide for automatic shtdown of the buildings heatig and air
conditioninq system simultaneous with the alarm system (item il
above) being activated.
5. Provide in both stairways a combination pressurizetl charged
standpipe. mis will enable fhe first fire department crew to arrive
to internally have access to a pressurized source of water at two
points on each floor.
