RESOLUTION NO. 5321 <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing not-for-profit refreshments at Everett Station <br /> WHEREAS, Everett Station is a focal point for bus and rail travelers in and out of the <br /> city; and <br /> WHEREAS, university consortium students use Everett Station as an educational <br /> resource; and <br /> WHEREAS, Everett Station provides, through vending machines and the Station Café, a <br /> venue for cold beverages and snacks; and <br /> WHEREAS, when the Station Café is closed, Everett Station patrons do not have an <br /> option for hot drinks such as coffee; and <br /> WHEREAS,Everett Transit desires to allow not-for-profit organizations, such as school <br /> booster clubs, the opportunity to offer hot beverages such as coffee, as well as light <br /> snacks, on a donation-only basis at Everett Station; and <br /> WHEREAS, such organizations would provide documentation of tax-exempt status and <br /> be responsible for their own supplies and equipment; and <br /> WHEREAS, the procedures for such not-for-profit organizations at Everett Station are <br /> modeled after the Washington State Department of Transportation "Free Coffee" <br /> program available at highway rest stops. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF EVERETT: <br /> Not-for-profit organizations may dispense refreshments at Everett Station as determined <br /> in Everett Transit policies and procedures. <br /> Councilperson Introducing Reso • ion <br /> Passed and Approved this 3rd day of April , 2003 <br /> Council President <br />
