The engineer's estimate for the project is <br /> $159,469. As discussed at the Budget Committee meeting on January 18, 2005, the total cost of the project <br /> including the mall's contribution to construct a replacement customer platform is estimated at$350,000; <br /> (approximately$100,000 for the platform, $50,000 for shelters and$200,000 for the building). <br /> Bids were opened on Tuesday, July 26. Five contractors responded to the bid. They are as follows: <br /> Fredhoe's Building Construction Company, Everett,$234,900; Pellco Construction Inc., Mountlake Terrace, <br /> $234,000; ESE Corporation, Tacoma, $233,681; tcm General Construction, Inc., Edmonds, $214,800; <br /> S.D. Deacon,Bellevue, $163,003. <br /> The lowest responsive bidder is S.D. Deacon at a bid of$163,003. S.D. Deacon is the current contractor for <br /> the mall and is already tasked by the mall to construct the replacement bus platform. Staff recommends the <br /> City of Everett award the contract to S.D Deacon in the amount of$163,003 plus Washington State Sales <br /> Tax. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Mayor to sign the Construction Contract Award to S.D. Deacon for <br /> Everett Mall Station Driver's Facility and Customer Service Building. 3 7 <br />
