B. For contracts estimated to cost more than two million dollars ($2,000,000.00) for the <br /> construction, remodeling, or renovation of City buildings that are awarded from <br /> January 1, 2003 through December 31, 2003, fifteen percent (15%) of total labor <br /> hours; and <br /> C. For contracts estimated to cost more than one million dollars ($1,000,000.00) for the <br /> construction, remodeling, or renovation of City buildings that are awarded on or after <br /> January 1, 2004, fifteen percent (15%) of total labor hours. <br /> 2. These requirements may be modified for a specific project for the following reasons: <br /> A. A lack of availability of apprentices; <br /> B. A disproportionately high ratio of material costs to labor hours, which does not make <br /> feasible the required minimum levels of apprentice participation; <br /> C. Participating contractors have demonstrated a good faith effort to comply with the <br /> requirements of this resolution; or <br /> D. Other criteria deemed appropriate. <br /> B. The Mayor is authorized to form a study group to discuss the use of apprenticeship <br /> requirements on other projects.
