RESOLUTION NO. 5262 <br /> A RESOLUTION expressing the City of Everett's gratitude <br /> to Betty and Ed Morrow for their donation <br /> WHEREAS, Betty and Ed Morrow are the owners of a home located at <br /> 2130,Colby Avenue; and <br /> WHEREAS, this residence is historically referred to as the Van Valey <br /> home, and is listed on the Everett Historic Register; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Morrows have restored the home and it now serves as an <br /> outstanding example of a Northwest classic box style house; and <br /> WHEREAS, over the years, Ed Morrow has assembled a large and <br /> impressive collection of Everett historic items; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Morrows feel that they have been the caretakers of the <br /> house and that the house belongs in the public domain and have allowed thousands <br /> of citizens to visit and tour the residence along with the Everett historic collection; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Morrows now wish to donate the house, some of its <br /> furnishings and much of Ed's historic collection to the City of Everett subject to <br /> the provisions of a Donation Agreement with the City; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the Mayor and City Council do hereby extend their <br /> deepest appreciation to Betty and Ed Morrow for this extraordinarily generous <br /> donation to the City of Everett which donation is truly a philanthropic act on their <br /> behalf <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this 30th day of October , 2002. <br />
