Changes are proposed for Routes 1, 2,4, 11 and 23. The emphasis of the change is to improve
access to downtown Everett and Everett Station from routes originating west of Evergreen Way and to
simplify service to businesses on the north side of Everett Mall Way. The information has been available for
public comment since November 2, 2005. The proposal was posted on the transit website, rider alerts were
posted on buses, an information brochure was distributed throughout the system, and staff met with
customers at Everett Community College,Everett Station, Everett Mall and Everett Senior Center. In
addition staff made presentations at the View Ridge-Madison and Valley View-Larimer Ridge-Sylvan Crest
neighborhood meetings.
The Federal Transit Administration does not require a public hearing for a service change of this scope,
however it is Everett Transit's practice to provide a formal opportunity for public comment when significant
changes to routes are proposed.
RECOMMENDATION: Conduct a Public Hearing for the Proposed Everett Transit February 12, 2006
Fixed Route Service Change.
61
