Map Amount Budgeted -0- Expenditure Required -0- Account Number(s): n/a Budget Remaining -0- Additional Required -0- DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: A petition has been received from Eric and Meghan Odegard for the proposed vacation of the narrow alley lying between Norton and Grand Avenues directly behind and south of 3324 Grand Ave.in Block 787, Plat of Everett, Division 'H' (See attached map). The alley to be vacated has only 12 feet of right-of-way; is at the top edge of a ravine; and has a tight bend in it. The Odegard's own the property abutting both sides of the proposed alley vacation. Also,the property owners located north of the proposed vacation have indicated their support. The petitioners by representing more than two-thirds of the lineal frontage abutting the said alley have fulfilled the statutory requirements of RCW 35.79.010. RCW 35.79.010 further requires that City Council set a date and time for the matter to be heard. RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): Adopt Resolution accepting the petition and setting the public hearing for January 25th,2006 at 8:30 AM in the Everett City Council chambers, 3002 Wetmore Avenue for the proposed vacation of a portion of the alley in the 3300 block lying between Norton and Grand Avenues. 68
