Mc Larry Johnson : S/22/03
As we discussed over the telephone this week, the house located at 142] Lombard, Everett, had bcen in my
fatnily for many years. It was purchased by my Grandparents, Alexander and Kathleen White wmetime in
the early 1920's and was our farnily home until probably sometimc in the years betwan 1965 and 1975. My
mother was living in the basement apnrtment until 1957 when 1 moved her to Southem Califomia for hu
heelth. After that time 1 am not surevhen my Grandmother sold the house.Prior to then, my motha, fither
end I lived in both tBe upstairs and basement apartments a[one time or another, and my Great Grandmother
lived in the cotWge in the back. I have enclosed some phorographs of the house and family members, with
the attcndent dates to verify seid residence. If you look at the two pfrotos of ine as a[wo year old in 1938
you may bc eble ro identify the hruses across the strect. I don't rccall the street trces, although they may
have been there in the 30's. The small house on the north wasjust a foundatian hole for many, meny years
and we children used to play in it a lot.
I hope this will be of some assistance in helping you verify that the house, for es long as I can remember,
con:sted of an aptrtment upstairs, onc on the main floor, one in the basemrnt, and the cottage. We were not
allowed on the main Ooor as Grandmother felt it was the primary rental. I seem to recall her saying the
tenants didn't want to own a hcme and rentcd thcre for some 14 years.
Sincerely,
R bcrt . Dokka
5603 '71 PI.
