EVERETT- WATER COMPANY.
Entered ut plat i;ook// ! i. L Li -
Vol ....__.1 w
CIRCULAR
`f -
TO
PLUMBERS AND PIPE FITTERS
In addition to the rules and regulations of the Company re-
specting water supply, the following instructions are published
for the information and guidance of plumbers, pipe -fitters and all
persons concerned:
On the back of this sheet a statement of the work done and
fixtures put in must be made by the pi .ubcr and returned to the
office of the Company.
In all cases a "stop and waste" must be put in, and so placed
that it is easily accessible to the consumer, and in such a position
that it will drain all the pipes. If placed outside the building it
must be boxed, so that it can be easily reached, and so that it
can be protected from frost. All pipes, inside and outside, must
be laid free from traps so that they will drain when the waste is
open.
Pipes in the ground must be laid not less than twenty-four
inches below the surface.
All pipes must be run so as to avoid stoppages and all traps
must be well secured.
No bushing must be used to connect with the stopcock at the
sidewalk; nipples or reducing sockets may be used if necessary.
No pipe can run between the Company's service -cock and
main, and in case a water meter is set, no pipe must be connected
outside the meter.
Plumbers may turn on water for the purpose of testing their
Pipes, but they must leave it shut off at the Company's service -
cock, and in no case turn on the water for consumers.
The water will not be turned on to any premises until the
statement herein required has been furnished to the Company
and the inspector shall certify that the work has been done in
accordance with its rules and regulations.
A. C. PATTERSON,
Superintendent Everett water Company.
