Let me explain this to you a bit. A number of years . �� � <br /> ago when we tested with Underwriters LaUoratory, we had our 6", 7", <br /> and 10" chimneys approved in Northbrook, Illinois. AUout a year ' <br /> later we came out with a 12" chimney and rather than having it approved <br /> i.n Northbroek we asked one of tHeir representatives to parform the <br /> testing in Fredericksburg. At that time our test facility was 12 feet <br /> high. When we got the aprroval from UL they only approve exactly that <br /> which has been tested, ard so on our 12" pipe they stated that 3t was <br /> satisfactory to a height of 12 feet. We know £or a facc that our 12" <br /> ^himney is perfectly safe and that al.l of the supports are thoroug}�ly � <br /> ad�quate for a 50 foot installation. As you know, our ;0" and 12" <br /> are botli constructed similarly and so there would be absolutely no � <br /> reason why the 12" would not perform just like the 10". Incidentall}�, <br /> the 10" is approved to 50 feet. Tnerefore the situation is this, our <br /> UL apnroval is only good to 12 feet, but an installation made correctLy � <br /> is perfectly safe and would perform completely adequately to a height - � <br /> of a ninimum 50 feet. � t <br /> Thank you for your understanding in this matter an$ we hope that } � <br /> this resolves t},� situation.
