__'•' DIY r¢ ` `M <br />r E S-�I ATER�°� ,PM <br />Y. <br />312itwred ii;glRt book CIRCULAR ' <br />Te <br />pose- L - <br />PLUMBERS AND PIPE FITTERS <br />In addition to the rules and regulations of tho Company respecting water <br />silpply, the following Instructions are published for the information and <br />guidance of plambers, pipe -fitters and all persons concerned; <br />On the back of this sheet a statement of the wirk done and fixtures put <br />In must be made by the plumber and returned 0) the office of the Com- <br />pany. <br />In all cases a "stop and waste" must be put in, and so placed that it Is <br />easily accessible to the consumer, and in such a that It will drain a!l <br />the pipes. If placed outside the building it mastbo boxed, so that It can be <br />easily reached, and so that it can be protected from frost. All pipes, Inside <br />and outside, must be laid free from traps so that they will drain when the <br />waste is open. <br />Pipes In the ground must be laid not less than o.wenty-four Inches below <br />the surface. <br />All pipes must he run so as to avoid stoppages snd all traps must be <br />well secured. <br />No bushing must be used to connect with the shop cock at the sidewalk; <br />nipples or reducing sockets may he used it necessary. <br />No pipe can run between the Company's service -cock and main, and <br />In case a water meter Is set, no pipe must be connected outside the meter. <br />Plumbers may turn on water for the purpose ref testing their pipes, but <br />they must leave it shutoff at the Company's ser•ace-cock, and in no case <br />turn on the water for consumers. <br />The water will not be turned on to any premoses until the statement <br />herein requirel has been furnished to the Compmiy and the Inspector shall <br />certify that the work has been done in accordmice with Its rules and ieguln- <br />tions. <br />A.
