DETAILED EXPLANATION OF THE SPECIFIC VARIANCE REQUEST For about 37 years, I have parked the "most used car" beside my house in my driveway, that leads in from Lombard Avenue. Over the ,years, trees of my neighbor, along his property line, have grown to the ext�nt of droppinq spills and pitch on my car. I enjoy the trees and would like simply to move my car forward a little over a"car length" onto t:his existin� concrete slab which other than a gate to bar i�_ off, is a continuation of my driveway. I propose to build over this slab a canooy covered with fiberglass tha} will protect my car from both tree debris and weather. I have a siagle car garage at the east end of my house lot that enters at right angles to the alley. i keep a second car in it, but it is very inconvenient parking for a car one frequently uses. i am including a sketch of a frontal view of the canopy as it would be seen, looking east into my driveway from Lombard Ave. From all other views it is pretty well concealed by hedges and trees. The canopy will be trimmed with lattice work to match similar trimmings on some parts of my property, all of which I maintain in the best of condition.
