The following individuals spoke <br /> in favor of adopting the proposed resolution. <br /> Jackie Minchew, Everett <br /> Shelley Wier, Northwest Everett Neighborhood Association <br /> Charlene Rawson, Everett <br /> Gail Chism, Everett <br /> Moved by Council Member Roberts, seconded by Council Member <br /> Bader, to close the public hearing. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council <br /> Member Gipson who was excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> RESOLUTION — RENAMING PARK <br /> Moved by Council Member Roberts, seconded by Council Member <br /> Stonecipher, to adopt Resolution No. 6615 renaming Northwest <br /> Neighborhood Park "Drew Nielsen Neighborhood Park." <br /> Council Member Roberts spoke about Drew Nielson's contributions as a <br /> citizen activist and his efforts to establish Northwest Neighborhood Park <br /> prior to his service as a council member, which makes the renaming a <br /> fitting tribute. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher commented on her friendship with Drew <br /> Nielsen and his contributions to the community. She thanked citizens for <br /> their patience in waiting for the established process to conclude. <br /> Mayor Stephanson also announced "Bike to Work Day" scheduled for <br /> Friday, May 17, 2013 — an event in which the Mayor and Drew <br /> participated in the past.
