Corner of Beverly BNd. and Madison Straet <br />Everett, Washington <br />Dear Mr. Hough: <br />Rittenhouse-Zoman & Associates, Inc. (RZA) is pieased to present the resuks of a soil <br />gas survey and soil sampling conducted at the firestation and adJacent property located <br />at the S.E. comer of Beverly Bivd. and Madison Street, Everett, Washington. <br />Authorization to proceed with this work was provided by Mr. Dean M. Hough. <br />Project Descriptfan <br />Approximately 850 galions of gasoline leaked from a 1000 gallon underground storage <br />tank (US� located at the firestation. The leaking UST was removed and sonie <br />contaminated soils were excavated from the subject site. A soil gas survey was <br />conducted on 24 July 1991 to characterize potential migration of gasoline from the <br />leaking UST on the firestation sfte to adjacent property to the so��th (Fgure 1). Four <br />hand augered borings were also advanced to collect soil samples. � <br />The soils between the retaining wal! and the garage consist of approximately 2�/z feet of <br />loose, coarse sand backfill underlain by orange brown silty, clayey, fine sand with some <br />gravel and organics. Dense to very dense, brown to light gray silry sand wiGti gravel and <br />cobbles (till) exists below the organic soil. The vapor samples were collected from within <br />
