Following is <br />a summnry of discussions held between GES aad the builder, Bob Brokaw, ,md <br />the strvctural engineer, Lany Thmndsen. These discussions wok place during the <br />first week o�'1une, 1998. Both individuals were present during c;onstruction of the <br />resideme and t�+e discussibns took place �o detenmine the conditions �t <br />during wm�hvction of the residence. <br />1. ,�vatioa for the foundafion system took place during Juae, 1997. <br />2. r g excavation for the foundation system, en old septic tank without a <br />dcainfield was encountened. The aepdc taak consistod of a SS gatlon dnun Tt <br />was detarmined that this was stiil an active system for the house located north <br />of the rofereaced residence. The tank and all associated loose/wet soils w�,re <br />excavatad and remo��ed fxom the site. The ::ouu north of the referen�ed <br />residence was hooked up to sewor so that a septic tank would ao langer be <br />aeoded. it was the feeling of Mr. Brokaw and the excavation contractor that <br />this vras the source of the subaurface water that GES cncountared during our <br />geological investigstion. <br />3. The foundation system was terraced into the hil➢side, dropping down to the <br />west '1'he bottom of the foundation along the west side af the residence is <br />approximately 8 %et detp. �, <br />4.
