MEMORANDUM TO: Ted Budden Citv of' Everatt FROIvf: Bob Brokaw RE: 1231 Madrona Geotechnical Report DATE: June i2. 1998 � As you know; we built a house at 1231 Madron�: and are going throitgh the inspection process. During the e�cavation of the si.te we encountered a septic system �vhich served the adjacent house at 1229 Madrona. The septic tanl: consisted of a 55 gallon drum with doainfield and dioutfall was in the area �our report noted subsurface groundwater. The bathroom at the ��est end of the house and the downspouts flowed into this system. �1Ve rerouted the downspouts into a tight line s��stem ��-hiclt tvas installed on our lot and hooked the bathroom into tlie se��-er. I called Kirk Bailey of GES with this infartnation and, while he did not make an ofiicial site visit, he was aware of the source of the grou,�d water from the tanl:. I also informed TeBudden of the �� it�• of E�•erett during the foundation inspection process of the sF•ptic taiil: and the impact of the �rater on the site. The GES report calls for a contact if an�� of the conditions of tlteir report on p�ge seven are encountered. Because �ve discovered the septic tanl: and took measures to correct it, we did not encounter die conditions on the site as noted on �ages seven and eight and, therefore. did not h��•e GES inspect the site. We did follow the recommendations as noted in other areas of the report and have fased a letter from GES regarding these matt�rs. I tnist this will meet vour needs.
