Glecie! ice last
occupied the rogion during th.: late Plcistocene epuch, some 10,000 m 13,000 ycars before the present.
Thc latest glncinl ndvance over the nrca is refertcd to ns the Vashon Stadc of the Prascr Glnciation, wliich
depasited the glacial mnterials on site.
Literature Revicw
The Gcologic Pdap of Surficinl Deposits in the Senttic 30-by 60- minute Quadrangle by Younl [ al notcs
that this aren contei7s the Vashon till, Qt, t higher elevatimts and advnnce outtvash deposits, Qva,
below in the ravines and nt lower elcvations.
Site Conditions
Wc obscrved soil exposures on tltc site. fhese observations confimed the existenco of advance outash
depasits.
Hydrulogic Conditions
No water wns aUscrvcJ on 16e surtdcc ad no water was obsctvcd cn tle slopc.
Slope Stfbility
The core of the lot comprises glacially compacted deposits of edvance ouhv:sh sands and
bnvcls/coUUles. We did not obscrve signs of deep-seatcd slopc failures nnd would rwt expect any. There
were no signs of instnbility on neighboring propeiics.
It is our opinion th¢t there is not a significnnt potcntiul for deep-seated slope instability.
Signs of bnchwasting (movement of nenr-surface soil) drough exposed soil erosion processes or local
swface slides are common to stecp slopes, pnrticulnrly where exposed to wcathering, such us rain, wind,
and freeze-thaw. 'I'here werc no perccptiUle signs of significant backwnsting.
RM! ASSOCIATES LLC
S'd SSI9-6Z9 [09E1 s1acyad N su9tsaQ dSSEO LO 60 eW
