January 15, 1993

F/RE DEP.4RT/IyENT
To All Interested Parties:
l4'
Pna ,..c.

Several questioas have arisen surrounding the review and approvals of a City of Everett Shozt
Plat developad by Mr. David Brandvold. The short plat in question is located in ffie 1400
block of Madrona.
The Planning Department review of Uris application was idendfied by the number 35-86. The
Pianner was Mr. Don Wood.
The Everett Fire Departrnent reviewed the application in November of 1986. No specific
requirements were placed upon the appGcant at that fime. Certain requirements for all
developments aze iterated in the Uniform Fire Code, 1985 Edidon, and the City of Everett
Subdivision Ordinance. Our review would include tt►e following:
I.
II.
AGCE.SS
A. Compliance with Secdon 10.207 of the Uniform Fire Code, 1985 Edition. This
secdon deals with Fire Department Access to all properties. There was no
problem with the proposal as shown on t6e site plan reviewed. The proposal
indicated a 20-foot-wide easement access less than 100 feet in length.
B. Compliance with the Subdivision Ordinance in regard to Access. The iadicated
20-foot easement complied with the ordinance. By implicadon a 14-fcot-wide
paving was presumed as part of ffie ordinance compliance.
WATER SUPPLY
City Subdivision and Hydrant Ordinances require that a fire hydrant which can provide
the required fire flows be available within 350 driving feet of all single family
structures. There was no problem apparent with water supply.
PREMISFS ID
City ordinances, the Fire Code and the Building Code all require that all premises be
iden6fied. In the case of easement access, the identification should be at the entry from
the street. In 1986, addresses were not assigned prior to the issuance of building
permits; thus, these signs could not be provided prior to the recording of plats.
CICOC'T CIOC f1COPOTCiT. q011 rl.oc A,o . ,o.ok UIC oq91 . ronai so.ano.
