Re: Connection tu Available Public Sewer-
On April 6, 2006, a letter was sent io inform you tliat a review of our records indicates
that your property may not be connected to the public sewer system. The Everett
Municipal Code requires tiiat all property owners within 150 feet or adjar, ent to a public
sanitary sewer shall connect their private sewer ystem to the public sewer after being
notified by the Public Works Department.
Our records also indicate that your property is adjacent to, or is within 150 feet of an
existing public sanitary sewer. I have enclosed an excerpt from our sanitary sewer
chrt indicating the proximity of your property to a public sanitary sewer system. Any
costs to connect, including construction and monthly sewer charges, are to be borne hy ,, , _
the property owner.
viable means of proof. Anuther alternative to prove the structure is connected to the
the ovner's permission and the residenYs notification to allow a city employee to enter
the premises and flush dye into the toilet. In a short amount of time the colorocl .;r '',,_
the City Fngineer may, on written request from the property owner, extend the time to
connect to the public sewer for a period of up to a maximum of ten (10) years; provided
that, at the property owner's expense, the Snohomish Health District certifies, in writing,
to the Public Works Department that the existing sewage system is operational. The
Snoliomish Health District can be contacted at (425) 339-5250; ask for the Wastewater
