Cou�icil adopted the resolution but requested that I <br /> �'� research the possibility of abating the condition of the residence by ( <br /> g y�+ means other than physical demolition. <br /> c� C�n <br /> � �� After determining that the structure was structurally sound and by <br /> z y v� itself did not present a hazard or danger structurally, abatement was <br /> '� �" looked at from another standpoint. � <br /> The conditions causing the hazard and danger relative to the residence <br /> was the trash, debris and rats nests on the interior, plus the fact that <br /> the house was open to the publi^ and being entered by neighborhood <br /> children and transients. <br /> �_} ,�I Taking everything into consideration alon9 with Council 's request, I <br /> returned to Council �n June 9, 1982 with an amendment to the resolution <br /> for demolition. The amendment authorized the clearing of the trash from <br /> , �� the house and premises as opposed to demolition of the structure. The <br /> � house was to be secured and kept secured by the owner. Maintenance of <br /> the yard would be the responsibility of the owner. <br /> ,,. � If a structure is found to be structurally sound, we hesitate to <br /> elimi��ate�thesconditions that arepcausing afhazardWand/orWdangerer to <br /> tPl <br /> Some buildin9s we deal with are very unsound structurally and we pursue <br /> these until they h+�ve been demolished. <br /> � 1 There are several houses and other buildings in the City of Everett which <br /> ' are vacant and boarded up. Since they are kept secured, and the owners <br /> p�� <br /> abandoned9norrarehtfeyrconsPd�red,aehazard�usbnuisance oredanyer�to�dheed <br /> �^- public. <br /> �_'. <br />
