VINCES <br />Chapter 16.56 <br />FENCES <br />Sections: <br />16.56.010 <br />Electric fences. <br />16.56.020 <br />Barbed wire fences. <br />16.56.030 <br />Permits required. <br />16.56.040 <br />Enforcement. <br />16.56.050 <br />Penalty for violations. <br />16.56.010 Electric fences. <br />No person ;hall erect, alter, extend or maintain any fence, <br />wire or structure, within the city limits of Everett, through <br />which an electric current shall pass for the purpose of creating <br />and imparting an electric shock to persons or animals that may <br />come in contact with the same; except, that an electric fence <br />may be installed and maintained is any area zoned A-1 <br />Agricultural Use Zone for the Purpose of controlling permitted <br />livestock provided that no such fence shall border any public <br />right-of-way and further provided that no such fence shall <br />constitute a property line fence. Any electric fence erected or <br />maintained in an agricultural zoned district shall be energized <br />by battery tower only and fence controllers shall be UL <br />approved and so indicated. An "electric fence" warning sign <br />shall be posted at not more than one hundred foot intervals. <br />(Prior code 52.40.010.) <br />16.56.020 Barbed wire fences. <br />No person shall erect or maintain any fence, within the city <br />limits of Everett, that is composed of, or has any part of, <br />constructed of barbed wire unless such fence is located within <br />an area zoned A-1 Agricultural Use Zone as set forth in the <br />zoning code of the city of Everett, or unless such barbed wire is <br />placed above it woven wire or solid wooden fence, said fence to <br />be of a nunimum height of six feet, for the purposes of <br />Providing an impenetrable barrier for use around industrial <br />779 <br />
