WASYRiOTON <br />2702 HOYT AVENUE 987 <br />EVERETT, WA 98201 FIRE DEPARTMENNTT <br />RE: FIRE PREVENTION INSPECTION <br />Dear Sir: <br />A review of our Fire Department records show that the last fire inspection <br />conduc teU or. the 7I.arett ^ubl tic Library was thirteon (13) jears ago (O_:ctlr <br />19, MO). A fire inspection conducted September 21, 1983, identified and <br />analyzed the fire hazards and vulnerabilities embodied in this building and <br />operation of same. The following are violations of the Uniform Fire Code, <br />Uniform Building Code and the Life Safety Code that require correction: <br />EXTERIOR <br />1. Post and maintain the correct street address number in a conspicuous place <br />over or near the principal street entrance, or in such other conspicuous <br />place as is necessary for the easy finding of such address. Numbers shall <br />be easily legible figures, not less than three (3) inches high, contrasting <br />with the color of the buildinn or other structures upon which they are <br />placed. <br />2. Remove or replace the broken plexiglass library sign at the southeast corner. <br />3. Repair or remove the broken cement bulkhead in the south parking lot. <br />4. Move the garbage dumpster next to the exit on the west side (alley) to <br />another location away from the exitway (recommend moving it to the southwest <br />corner of the building in the alley). <br />INTERIOR <br />Sub-basement/Boiler Room <br />1. The portable fire extinguisher(s) must be properly serviced, then tagged <br />and dated by a person authorized by this department to do such work. <br />a. all fire extinguishers in the library are serviced annually; the ABC <br />fire extinguisher in sub -basement did not get done. <br />
