I: �I;�l'ATEf COMPANY. <br />Ea LA V- book <br />e <br />PLUMBER°n "AND- -PIPE-- FITTERS <br />�In nddltion to the rules and regulations of the Company respecting water <br />supply, tiro following Instructions are published for the Information unit <br />'`• guidance of plumbers, plpe4ltters and all persons concerned; <br />On the buck of this sheet a statement of the work done and dxtures put <br />Y in must be made by the plumber and returned to the Oinre of the Com- <br />pany. <br />' In all cases a "stap and waste" must be put In, and so placed that It Is <br />easily accessible to the consumer, and in such a position that It will drain all <br />the pipes. If placed outside the building It must be boned, on that It can be <br />easily reached, and so that It can he protected from frost. All pipes, Inside <br />and outside, must be laid free from traps Be that they will drain when the <br />waste is open. <br />1 Pipes in the ground must he laid not less than twenty-four incites below <br />j - <br />the surface. ,V. <br />All pipes must be ran so as to avoid stoppages and all traps most he <br />well secured. <br />No bushing must be used to connect with the stopcock at the sldownik; <br />nipples or reducing sockets may be used It necessmy. <br />No pipe can nun between the Company's service -cock and meln, unit <br />in case a water meter is set, no pipe must he connected outside the meter. <br />Plumbers may turn on water for the purpose of testing their pipes, but <br />they must leave it shut off at the Company's service -cock, and In no ease <br />turn on the water for consumers. <br />The water will not be turned on to any premises until the statement <br />herein required has been furnished to the Company and the Inspector shall <br />certify that the work lifts been done In accordance with Its rules and regtda- <br />❑one. <br />A.
