Public Works Dept. <br />3200 Cedar St. <br />Everett, WA 98201 <br />RE: Structural Damage to Buildings to Ground Subsidence <br />Building at 2822 HOVt - This building has exterior concrete masonry walls <br />with concrete foundation and retaining walls. The north wall is common with <br />2818 Hoyt Building and the south wall abuts the building to the south. On <br />the mdini. fIOCr area there is significant cracking in north h west wall and <br />settlement was noted at the northwest corner and deflection of floor and <br />ceiling has also occurred there. The window at the southwest corner snows <br />significant cracking at corners. Near the east entrance displacement <br />cracking was Observed around the doorway and stairway. <br />The basement concrete slao had major cracks indicating significant <br />settlement especially the western section and the resultant floor slope is <br />to the northwest corner. Significant cracks wera observed over Office doors <br />ad," ei <br />located in the basement. The west wall steel beam lintel over windows and <br />doors is separated from masonry aoove due to settlement of northwest <br />supporting column. <br />On December 20tn the west exterior wall was ooservea again and it was noted <br />that the column support at the north Side has settled further and the steel <br />support beam had deflected to cause a 2 inch -- gap under the masonry. <br />Windows above are bowing out due to compression. <br />?uiloind at -'819 RuCk ar - This Duilaino 'aas censtr acted with 10 inch 4i7P <br />
