WASMIN6TON <br />We would like to thank the Council for granting the approval of our Inspection <br />T.rip to the Pacific Prestress Ltd. Plant in Richmond, B, C. Canada, manufactures <br />of the segments of the City's new Parking Garage. We were concerned with the in- <br />stalYation of the conduit and boxes iu�bedded in slabs, walls and coiumns; who <br />was making the Inspections if any, and the Code knowledge of the person doing <br />ehe actual work, We were introduced to the Design Engineer and Electrician and <br />cvere shown the portion of the work perfonned at the plant. We had the Electrician <br />give us a detailed step by step procedure of ehe work he pteformed to be sure he <br />was in no way violating the Code. We did find during our co�rversation that the <br />ligh[ standards on Che top aeck have �n aluminum 12 3nch square box at the base <br />[t�at is imbedded in the concrete. This is a violation of Section 300-5 of the <br />:Jational Electrical Cede. Two of these boxes have been installed. We requested <br />tliae the balance not be installed until thia could be re3olved with the Engineering <br />iirm. <br />We found the plant [o be clean, efficien[ly run operation. The Administration, <br />h:nginpering, and Laborera all appeared to be of top quality, We felt that we <br />.ir� fortunate to have the Company furnishing materials for the Parking Garage, <br />�1� r�re sure that they will willingly comply [o our requests, <br />`.-r.-t.�/„f y�� � fG1�J�.—s` <br />' r.ircnce T.
