June 10, 2009, the Everett City Council adopted Ordinance 3127-09, which regulates <br />exterior building minimum maintenance and street -level vacant commercial space in the <br />Central Business District (CBD). <br />The intent of the ordinance is to help protect the downtown streetscape and encourage <br />economic development in one of the City's important retail and business centers. This <br />ordinance establishes minimum maintenance requirements for structures in the CBD in <br />an effort to keep the streetscape vibrant and attractive. <br />The ordinance became effective September 1, 2009. A full copy of the ordinance is <br />enclosed with this letter.
