The wall is shown as 4 hour, with 3
hour rated openings, but does not appear to meet those standards
as constructed orf the third floor. The west portion is fully
sprinklered and the east is only partially sprinklered (first floor
level). After discussion with you it was determined that the
construction type could be iowered to Type II-1 hour, which would
then also !rawer allowable area and building height of the structure.
The Everett Clinic has chosen to go this route since the existing
square footage of the Type 11 construction and future additions fall
well under both the height limif. and the limit of the allowable square
footage based on the new construction type.
It is our understanding that the older portion of the ouilding to the
east will remain Type V-N, however future aJd,tio.is may trigger
compliance with the City of Everett Sprinkler Ordinance, since that
portion is only partially sprinklered.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and don't hesitate to
call me. Thank you for your e ssistance on this issue. f
Sincerely,
J net Monda
Architectural Werks, Inc.
M<
The Everett Clinic
